The Graham Academy Santa Parade Brings Community Together

Graham Academy Holiday Parade Participation
The Graham Academy proudly joined the annual Wilkes-Barre Santa Claus Parade, which brings together community members for a holiday celebration. This long-standing tradition provides an opportunity to showcase the strong relationships that make Graham Academy special.
Celebrating Community, Joy, and Connection
“Our participation in the parade is far more than just a holiday tradition,” said Carol McGrane, regional director of The Graham Academy. “It’s a chance for our students, families, and staff to celebrate community, spread joy, and demonstrate the connections that make our school unique.”
Accompanied by staff, students walked the parade route while dressed in festive attire and excitedly waved to spectators. They also passed out candy.
“Seeing our students walk proudly in the parade is such a rewarding experience,” said McGrane. “Moments like this help build confidence, social skills, and school pride.”
Showcasing Student Strengths to the Community
The parade also provided a chance for community members to witness students’ strengths firsthand and see the supportive network surrounding them.
“Our students shine when given opportunities to participate, belong, and contribute, and the parade is a perfect example of that,” said McGrane.
Building School Spirit Through Tradition
Overall, the parade strengthened school spirit, reinforced relationships among students, staff, and families, and provided authentic opportunities for students to shine.
“Events like this bring our mission to life and remind us of the joy that comes from supporting one another,” said McGrane. “We look forward to continuing this tradition for many holiday seasons to come.”
