Spirit of Philadelphia Hosts Eighth Grade Luncheon Celebration

A Memorable Day on the Spirit of Philadelphia

This year, eighth graders at Excel Middle Years Academy enjoyed a change of scenery for their annual luncheon. The event was held on the first deck aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia. Departing from Penn’s Landing, the cruise featured views of the Philadelphia skyline and Ben Franklin Bridge. Students also enjoyed the picturesque scenery along the Delaware River.

Celebrating the Eighth Grade Class

Students spent the day socializing and enjoying a unique dining experience that paired great food with upbeat music. Students filled the dance floor, keeping the celebration going and never once losing momentum.

“Seeing our students dancing and celebrating their milestones aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia was a beautiful reminder of the spirit of our school community,” said Sadiqua Lloyd, director.

With a small, supportive setting, Excel Middle Years Academy offers an accelerated middle school track where students can develop the skills needed to thrive in middle and high school. The school is focused on academic success, emotional wellness, and social growth.
