At Sierra School of Solano County, students recently stepped into the past during a hands-on California history exhibition. Instead of only reading about life long ago, students were able to see, touch, and experience history in a more meaningful way.

Hands-On Learning Through California History

The exhibition featured old-fashioned homes, tools, writing materials, clothing, and everyday items. This helped students better understand how people lived in the past. Exhibitors dressed in historical attire shared artifacts, stories, and demonstrations that brought California history to life.

One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity for students to participate in hands-on activities. Students practiced making everyday items, explored historical materials, and learned how much time and effort went into simple tasks. Tasks that are often taken for granted today.

By engaging with the displays and activities, students gained a deeper appreciation for the past while creating lasting memories through an interactive learning experience.
