The High Road School of Hartford recently reached an exciting milestone: the 100th day of school! To mark the occasion, students and staff celebrated with a day filled with hands-on learning and movement centered around the number 100.

100th Day of School Activities That Made Learning Fun

Students participated in a variety of engaging activities that blended academics and fun. One highlight was creating a 100-item trail mix, where students counted and organized ingredients using a 100 board. This activity reinforced counting, grouping, and number sense while also encouraging teamwork – and resulted in a tasty treat.

STEAM Challenges That Built Problem-Solving Skills

STEAM challenges also included using 100 cups, putting students’ problem-solving and engineering skills to the test. Whether stacking cups as high as possible or building creative structures, they practiced planning, persistence, and collaboration while experimenting with balance and design.

To keep bodies moving and energy high, students completed 10 sets of 10 exercises, reinforcing the concept of 100.
