High Road Hartford High Student Spotlight: Brenna M.

Recognizing Brenna’s Continued Growth
High Road School of Hartford High recognizes 11th-grade student Brenna as our student spotlight recipient for her continued behavioral growth and effort within the school’s CASE model.
Steady Progress Since Freshman Year
Since enrolling at High Road during her freshman year, Brenna has made steady, noticeable progress in how she approaches school, manages her emotions, and responds to feedback. Staff point to her growing consistency in making positive choices and her increased engagement in the classroom as signs of meaningful growth over time.
Student Spotlight Living Out the CASE Values
Brenna regularly demonstrates the CASE values (Considerate, Accountable, Safe, and Engaged) through her daily interactions. She is supportive of her classmates, takes responsibility for her actions, and contributes to maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment. Her willingness to reflect on her behavior and adjust when needed has played an important role in her success.

Learning to Pause and Reflect
Brenna credits the guidance and encouragement of school staff for helping her develop stronger self-awareness and coping strategies.
“When I used to get mad, my TAs would snap me back into reality – like, is this a valid reason to be mad?” she said. “Now I rethink what I’m doing.” That shift has helped her stay focused and better manage situations that once felt overwhelming.
A Positive Role Model
She also shared that her experience at High Road has helped her make changes she’s proud of.
“I don’t walk out of class anymore,” Brenna said, describing a clear difference between her early days at the school and where she is now. Being recognized as a positive influence has been meaningful for her. “It makes me feel good,” she said. “Everyone wants to be a positive role model.”
Congratulations to Brenna on her continued success.
