Specialized Education Services opens new private school in Mount Healthy

A New Chapter for Specialized Education Services
Specialized Education Services, a division of FullBloom, has officially opened High Road School of Mount Healthy for the 2025–2026 academic year. The school represents the fourth private day school in Ohio and the first in the Tri-State region. It expands on a four-year partnership with Mount Healthy City Schools and now operates inside a 40,000-square-foot facility owned by the district.
The program serves K-12 students and young adults up to age 22 with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The school’s mission is to give students the structure and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Specialized Learning Pathways
High Road School of Mount Healthy features three tailored learning pathways:
- Spark: Focuses on students needing academic and behavioral support while preparing them to transition into less restrictive settings.
- Spring: Supports students with emotional or mild cognitive disabilities by combining academics with life skills instruction.
- Bloom: Serves students with moderate to severe cognitive disabilities or autism, emphasizing functional academics, communication, and daily living skills.
These pathways are backed by small class sizes, evidence-based practices, sensory supports, and specialized therapies, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech-language therapy, and social work services.
High Road School of Mount Healthy Facilities Designed for Growth
The school includes unique spaces for life skills development, such as washer-dryer units, a garden, and future plans for a student-run café. A nearby marshland is also being developed to host on-site science learning experiences.
Principal Steve Dishon, a Cincinnati native and experienced educator, will lead the school. His vision is clear: to create a place where students are not only educated but also seen, supported, and celebrated.
