Celebrating Student of the Month at High Road School of Hartford

Student of the Month Recognition at High Road School of Hartford Primary
High Road School of Hartford Primary is proud to recognize Jose as the December Student of the Month. Since joining the school, Jose has made remarkable progress, impressing both staff members and classmates.
Academic and Social Growth Through Student of the Month Recognition
In a short period of time, Jose has made significant strides academically and socially. He has worked hard to build friendships, embrace new experiences, and actively engage in his classroom. His dedication, curiosity, and enthusiasm shine through every day, and his growth is celebrated by the entire school community.
Personalized Learning Supports Student of the Month Success
A key part of Jose’s success has been the staff’s effort to tailor learning to his interests. One example is his fascination with European city buses, a topic he enjoys sharing with staff and students. Building lessons around what excites him has helped increase his engagement, enhance communication, and make learning feel relevant and natural.
Jose has also become a school celebrity, confidently sharing his ideas and opinions.
“I see Jose becoming more engaged in his classroom every day,” said School Director Lindsey Groben. “He especially enjoys stopping by the office to share what he has just learned, offering a delightful glimpse into his curiosity and excitement for learning.”
Jose’s progress extends beyond the classroom. His mother shared that she rates the school a 10/10 and has seen positive changes at home that reflect his growth at school.
Family and School Collaboration Behind Student of the Month Progress
Jose’s success is a true testament to teamwork. His achievements reflect the strong collaboration between his family and the dedicated school team, including classroom staff, BCBA, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, social worker, and director, all working together to support his growth.
“When Jose first started, he faced challenges such as yelling, screaming, running away, and frequent meltdowns. Today, these behaviors are rare, and he has made tremendous progress both at school and at home,” said Groben. “His story is an inspiring example of what focused support, personalized learning, and collaboration can achieve.”
