Back in September, Lattice Educational Services partnered with The Gentleman’s Barbershop in Windsor to bring free, sensory sensitive haircuts for students directly to campus.

For many of our students, what may seem like a simple task to others, such as getting a haircut, can be overwhelming and anxiety-provoking due to sensory sensitivities. Bright lights, unfamiliar sounds, or new environments can make the experience stressful.

By offering haircuts in a familiar and supportive setting, we help our students feel calm, safe, and confident while completing an important self-care routine. The partnership has been a huge success, and we’re grateful to The Gentleman’s Barbershop for helping make this possible.

Events like these remind us that small adjustments can make a big impact, ensuring every student has access to experiences that foster growth, independence, and self-esteem.
