Achieve Academy of Philadelphia East Students Celebrate Read Across America Week

Achieve Academy East Celebrates Read Across America Week
Achieve Academy East celebrated Read Across America Week by partnering with a neighboring elementary school, Crossroads Academy at Hunting Park.
Students Share the Joy of Reading
Two high school students, London H. and Ayannie V., visited a third-grade classroom to read The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. Hampton and Velazquez, members of the school’s Falcon Club, dressed up as Thing1 and Sam I Am while sharing the classic story with younger students.
“London and Ayannie did a wonderful job bringing the classic story to life, engaging the younger students with enthusiasm and school spirit,” said David Wong, school director. “It was a meaningful opportunity for our Falcons to serve as role models while promoting the joy of reading.”
Why Read Across America Week Matters
March is designated as National Reading Month in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and serves as a time to inspire Americans of all ages to read every day.
We are proud of our students for representing Achieve Academy East with leadership and heart!
Achieve Academy of Philadelphia helps middle and high school students get back on track. The transitional program supports students who have faced behavioral challenges in a traditional school setting, providing a structured environment focused on academics, behavior, and personal growth. The goal is to help students build the skills and confidence needed to successfully return to their home school.
