Mid-Year Graduation at Excel Philadelphia

Mid-Year Graduation Marks a Major Milestone
In January, students at Philadelphia’s accelerated high schools reached an important milestone: graduation. This achievement reflects their hard work, determination, and resilience through past challenges.
79 Students Honored Across Philadelphia Campuses
In total, 79 students from Excel Academies of Philadelphia (North, South, and Central campuses) and Philadelphia Continuation Academy took part in the ceremony. The event took place at the Temple Performing Arts Center.
District Leaders Reinforce Commitment to Graduation
School District of Philadelphia leadership attended the celebration and shared remarks throughout the program. This included the superintendent and senior administrators from the Opportunity Network, the Re-engagement Center, and the Office of School Organization. Together, they reinforced the district’s commitment to helping students stay on track and reach graduation.
Student Speakers Highlight Perseverance and Re-Engagement
Student keynote speakers also shared powerful reflections on their academic journeys. Throughout the ceremony, speakers emphasized perseverance, re-engagement, and the importance of flexible learning options. Just as importantly, they highlighted how student-centered pathways help remove barriers and support graduation success.
Accelerated High School Pathways That Support Graduation
Excel and Achieve Academies provide an accelerated high school track in a small, supportive setting. Students can earn up to 10 credits per year through a flexible approach designed to meet their needs. The programs serve students ages 15-21 and focus on academic success, emotional wellness, and social growth.
Congratulations to the graduates on this well-earned accomplishment!
