For many students at our accelerated high schools in Philadelphia, graduating once felt out of reach because of circumstances that made it hard to stay on track.

But on June 9, that goal became a reality.

Students from Excel Academies of Philadelphia campuses (North, South, and Central), Achieve Academy of Philadelphia, Achieve Academy of Philadelphia East Campus, and Philadelphia Continuation Academy gathered at the Temple Performing Arts Center for their graduation ceremony.

Dr. Shakeera Warthen-Canty, assistant superintendent for the School District of Philadelphia, delivered the keynote address. Students Brandy Torres (Excel South),

Ayriq Price (Excel Central), and Azya Jackson-Smith (Excel North) had the opportunity to share their stories and reflect on their journeys.

Wearing decorated black caps and gowns, 136 graduates crossed the stage to receive their certificates and diplomas as families and friends cheered them on. The ceremony was a powerful reminder of how far these students have come and the bright futures that await them.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
