Excel Middle Years Academy wrapped up Black History Month with its first-ever Emya Roots & Rhythms Slam, an inspiring and vibrant celebration of Black history and culture. The event brought together students and staff for an exciting competition that blended historic knowledge with artistic expression. Three teams of sixth, seventh and eighth graders, led by two staff coaches, competed in a series of engaging rounds that showcased their talents through creative performances, each based on a chosen theme and skill.
