Growing in Confidence and Engagement

Since joining High Road School of Lima in 2022, Isaiah, a sixth grader, has made significant progress in the classroom and with his behavior. With support from his family and school team, he has become more confident in his abilities and engaged in learning.

Finding the Right Learning Environment

Before coming to High Road, Isaiah attended a public school where he was placed in a special education classroom. His family said the setting was not meeting his behavioral and academic needs, and they believed he was capable of more. Following a recommendation from his behavior specialist, his parents explored High Road School of Lima.

“Isaiah has flourished at High Road from the day he started,” said Isaiah’s parent, Brenda Bailey. “He is thriving and learning—I work closely with his teachers, and they’re just wonderful.”

Participating in the Full School Day

One of the biggest differences his family noticed was Isaiah’s ability to remain at school for the full day.

“At his public school, I received a phone call every day to come and get him after he’d only been there an hour or two,” said Bailey. “Then they cut his hours down to three hours a day. When he went to High Road, it was totally different, and I did not receive phone calls anymore.”

Building Academic and Behavioral Skills

Isaiah has also made significant academic progress, particularly in reading.

“He can read as well as I can right now, and the staff have helped him improve with his behavior,” said Bailey.

At High Road, Isaiah receives individualized instruction and behavioral support designed around his needs. The school’s structured environment has helped him build skills that allow him to be more successful throughout the school day.

“High Road knows exactly how to work with your child to help them learn and be the best that they can be,” said Bailey. “I don’t know where I would be without High Road. I can’t say enough good things about them.”

A Partnership Supporting Continued Growth

School Director Karis Thines said Isaiah’s progress reflects the close partnership between his family and the High Road team.

“We are so proud of the progress Isaiah continues to make each day,” said Thines. “We are grateful to partner with his family and help him build the skills and confidence to be his best.”
