Seashore Leadership Academy Student Draws Division I Football Attention

Seashore Leadership Academy student DonTaye Day-Thompson is attracting attention from some of the biggest schools in college football.
Division I Football Offers and Athletic Success
The Atlantic City High School junior has received Division I scholarship offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State, Boston College, Syracuse, and Temple, among others. A three-star recruit who plays wide receiver and defensive back, Day-Thompson recently received an offer from Alabama, one of his dream schools.
Day-Thompson’s athletic success extends beyond football. He also plays basketball for Atlantic City while balancing the demands of two sports with his schoolwork.
Academic Growth at Seashore Leadership Academy
For the past two years, Seashore Leadership Academy has provided Day-Thompson with a smaller classroom environment. The school also offers a schedule that allows him to focus on academics while continuing to compete in athletics. He credits his relationships with his coaches and teachers as an important part of his success.
“DonTaye is a funny, respectful and charismatic young man who always has a smile on his face,” said Ray Strickland, executive director of Seashore Leadership Academy. “Over the past two years, we’ve watched him mature, take accountability and grow as a leader. The smaller classroom environment has helped him focus on his schoolwork while continuing to pursue his goals as an athlete.”
According to Strickland, Day-Thompson says his time at Seashore has also helped him mature, and he has learned to take greater accountability for himself.
As college programs continue to take notice, Day-Thompson is keeping his sights on what comes next. He wants to finish high school, attend college, and ultimately pursue his goal of playing in the NFL.
