High Road School of Hoffman Estates Open House Builds Community

High Road School of Hoffman Estates recently welcomed students, families, and district partners for an evening focused on connection, learning, and community. The October 1 Hoffman Estates Open House gave guests an opportunity to explore classrooms, meet staff, and learn more about the academic programs, community resources, and specialized services available to students. More than 50 students and family members attended the event, filling the school with energy, conversation, and school spirit.
Families Explore the School
The evening began with an interactive scavenger hunt throughout the building. Families visited classrooms, stopped by favorite staff members, explored the Lion’s Den, and participated in a special craft station celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. The activity gave families a fun way to move through the school while learning more about the people and spaces that support students each day.
Teachers also highlighted student achievements by displaying recent work and sharing updates on academic progress and personal growth. These conversations gave families a closer look at what students have been working on and the progress they continue to make.
Learning About Programs and Resources
Collaboration and hands-on learning were visible throughout the Hoffman Estates Open House. The related services team, Associate Director Ms. Karen, and supporting staff hosted informational tables featuring community resources, program information, and interactive activities for families.
In the gym, students participated in physical activities led by Coach. The space gave students a chance to move, have fun, and connect with others while families continued exploring the school and meeting staff.
Strengthening the School Community
The Open House created meaningful opportunities for students, families, staff, and district partners to spend time together. By welcoming families into the school and sharing student successes, High Road School of Hoffman Estates strengthened the connection between home and school while celebrating the community that supports each student.
