High Road School of Hoffman Estates Student Growth: Andrew Builds Skills

Since joining High Road School of Hoffman Estates in 2023, Andrew has made meaningful progress across social, behavioral, and academic areas.

With support from therapeutic services, including Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Counseling, Andrew has continued building new skills. He has also become more comfortable participating in a wider range of activities throughout the school day.

Building Communication Skills

One important area of Andrew’s growth has been communication. He now uses his AAC device more effectively to express his wants and needs. Andrew also uses the device to participate in activities throughout the school day. This progress has helped him engage more actively with staff, classmates, and classroom routines.

Student Growth Through Academic and Physical Activities

Andrew’s dedication is also visible in his academic engagement. In physical education, he has shown increased tolerance when approaching activities he previously preferred to avoid.

His willingness to participate reflects continued growth in flexibility and resilience. These skills support his overall development both inside and outside the classroom.

Reaching New Social Milestones

Andrew has also made meaningful progress socially. He has moved beyond independent play and now engages in parallel play alongside his peers.
