Excel Middle Years Academy Graduate Earns Top Honors

Excel Middle Years Academy Graduate Recognized for Excellence
Finishing eighth grade at the top of her class, Nathlica closed out her time at Excel Middle Years Academy (EMYA) with recognition for both academic excellence and student leadership. A member of the student government, she was also named Best Overall Student of the Year, an honor that reflected her performance, dedication, and growth.
A Family Connection to Excel
Nathlica’s connection to Excel extends across generations. Her mother, Phyllicia, graduated from Excel Central in 2011. She chose EMYA for her daughter based on her own experience with the program. She also had confidence in its educators. Her encouragement and support helped Nathlica remain focused as she worked toward her goals.
Recognized for Leadership and Growth
“Nathlica has shown tremendous dedication to her education and has become a strong leader within our school community,” said Sadiqa Lucas, principal of Excel Middle Years Academy. “We are proud of everything she has accomplished and confident that she will continue to thrive in high school.”
Nathlica will attend Parkway West during the 2026-27 school year. As she prepares for ninth grade, she carries with her the academic foundation, leadership experience, and confidence she developed at EMYA.
