High Road School of Cole County brings high-quality special education services closer to home for students and families in more than 25 school districts

High Road School of Cole County Opens in Jefferson City

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 17, 2026Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, a premier provider of education services for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting, today announced the opening of High Road School of Cole County in Missouri. Located at 1115 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, the new campus expands access to specialized education for students frommore than 25 school districts across central Missouri.

Programs and Student Support Services

High Road School of Cole County, SESI’s third private day school in Missouri, provides individualized instruction for students in grades K-12 (ages 5-22) with intensive academic, emotional, and behavioral needs. The program supports students with diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, emotional disability, learning disabilities, and ADHD/ADD, among others.

“For years, students in and around Jefferson City were traveling long distances to access appropriate special education programs or weren’t being placed at all because the distance was too great,” said Lauren Wolters, director of the High Road School of Cole County. “Bringing High Road to the Jefferson City area gives districts a trusted option closer to home while significantly reducing stress for students and parents.”

Enrollment, Capacity, and More Information

High Road School of Cole County offers three specialized learning pathways to meet a wide range of needs:

  • Spark: For students needing academic and behavioral support, focused on transitioning to less restrictive settings.
  • Spring: For students with emotional or mild cognitive disabilities, combining academics with life skills instruction.
  • Bloom: For students with moderate to severe cognitive disabilities or autism, emphasizing functional academics, communication, and daily living skills.

The school operates in a stand-alone facility that includes a playground, a large motor lab, and a sensory room. Students also have access to a comprehensive range of related services, including counseling services and speech-language, occupational, and physical therapies.

“With small class sizes and a dedicated team of educators, therapists, and support staff, High Road schools are able to build meaningful relationships with students and their families,” said Wolters. “We look forward to continuing this success on our new campus.”

High Road School of Cole County will initially serve 10-15 students across two classrooms, with the capacity to grow to 50 or more students as enrollment increases.
