The High Road School of Hoffman Estates- Cardiac Emergency Response Team

Strengthening Emergency Preparedness on Campus

The Cardiac Emergency Response Team (CERT) at High Road School of Hoffman Estates, made up of eight dedicated staff members, received comprehensive training on December 3, 2025. This half-day session centered on essential life-saving skills, covering CPR, AED use, First Aid, NARCAN administration, and the crucial Stop the Bleed protocol. Much of the day was devoted to learning and practicing CPR, along with hands-on exercises to reinforce all of the skills required to effectively implement the school’s Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP), which was developed earlier this school year.

It is vitally important for our school community to be prepared to medically support our students and staff in the event of a medical crisis. Proactive training like this helps ensure we are ready to respond quickly and appropriately, prioritizing the safety and well-being of everyone at our school.
