Since February, a new community partnership has helped bring together students and older generations in a uniquely meaningful way.

Joe Hudson, the transition coordinator at the High Road School of Harford County, and two of his students, Dylan and Justin, have visited Sterling Care Riverside, an adult assisted and independent living facility. These students, who are working through emotional disabilities, have embraced this community service initiative with enthusiasm and pride.

They make a short walk twice a week to spend time with the residents, playing BINGO, sharing laughs, and simply offering companionship.

“The experience has been transformative, not just for the residents, but for the students as well,” said Hudson. “Dylan and Justin have shown remarkable growth in empathy, behavior, and confidence.”
