As the school year winds down, students at the High Road School of Wright City have been treated to presentations on several important topics.
Destiny (Mantia) Klimaszewski shared her powerful story about the dangers of drinking and driving, following her tragic experience as a childless widow at 21.
Also helping highlight the dangers of driving under the influence were Christopher Pate, an underage drinking prevention specialist with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and his mother, Patsy Walker Pate. Christopher shared how his life changed after being hit by a drunk driver in 2009, while Patsy offered a moving perspective as a mom.
Rounding out the list of special guest speakers was Jim Sharp, Warren County Emergency Management director, who spoke to students about natural disasters and emergency preparedness.
