For the month of January our students were able to show their 60’s side and participate in tie dye day. Our staff and students were all decked out in tie dye of every color. We had some participants in tie dye shoes while others elected to wear the traditional tie dye shirt.

Since it is so cold outside, we were not able to actually tie dye with our students, we decided to take this opportunity to teach the students about chromatography. Each student was given a coffee filter to color with a marker. Once the coffee filter was colored, students dripped water on the filter to create a tie dye effect. Many students were very excited to do and watch the filter change instantly.
