Deb VanHoose is an essential asset to our Upper B.E.S.T. classroom. She has created incredible working relationships with both staff and students. Deb is frequently found leading creative and engaging lessons with her students. She brings an upbeat and positive attitude to the work environment and can always be counted on for a great joke. Deb was chosen as staff member of the month because of her hard work and dedication to the Assistant Teacher position and to her students. Deb is excellent at engaging her students finding the best ways to motivate her students to work. She is also great at teaching life skills and ensuring her students gain increased independence throughout their day.
Deb has built excellent rapport with the students in her classroom. There is nothing better than seeing Deb doing her “secret handshake” with a student, while running a fun and engaging lesson in the Motor Lab. Even on the most challenging days, Deb can still be found with a smile on her face, working hard to make sure all of her students are engaged in their learning environment.
