KAPS Academy of Escambia serves as an early educational therapeutic and behavioral model for elementary school-aged students who are beginning to express behavior difficulties in the classroom or need enhanced social-emotional support and coaching in a non-traditional setting and a safe, supportive, nurturing environment.

Achieve Academy of Escambia is a transitional school for middle school and high school students who have experienced behavioral difficulties adapting to a traditional school environment. As these students have been referred from their home school, it is Achieve Academy of Escambia’s mission to ensure that they return to their home school in a timely manner demonstrating marked improvement in behavior, attendance, and academics.

KAPS Academy of Escambia excels at providing behavioral, academic, and therapeutic assistance to our younger students in a safe, supportive environment. Our framework designs the learning environment to minimize triggers, resolve negative behaviors, teach replacement behaviors, foster academic growth, and reinforce therapeutic support.

At KAPS Academy of Escambia, we stress the importance of positive peer culture and foster a therapeutic classroom environment that emphasizes the social, emotional, and intellectual development of each child. The program utilizes a behavioral modification system that offers rewards to cultivate positive leadership skills and increase pro-social behaviors. KAPS Academy of Escambia follows a rigorous academic model and is committed to continual academic growth and campus improvement:

  • Academic rigor through data-driven decision making and instruction
  • Frequent progress monitoring using research-based tools
  • Research-based reading and math interventions
  • Differentiated centers-based instruction
  • Focus on academic remediation toward basic skills, which better prepare students for standardized state testing

Through KAPS Academy of Escambia, students have improved their attendance rates, gained access to community resources, demonstrated growth in reading and math, earned field trips and other incentives, and began to enjoy going to school every day.
