Black History Month

Students spent the month of February focused on Black History. Not only did they study the many achievements of African Americans but also lead open discussions on the topics of racism and equality for all. They worked on projects to express how areas of gender equality and sexual orientation applies to them, their community and their country. With practice, they were able to get better, but their need for competition sometimes got the better of them. The staff also got in on the activities but were no match for some of the students. Students Get Real World On The Job Experience

The Pathway Program currently has four students who have been Volunteering in the Readiness Program located downstairs from the Pathways Program. Some of our Pathway students are interested in going into early child-care in the future. This experience allows students real-life exposure to this job setting and expectations. Pathways students can then use this experience when filling out job applications and writing resumes. [...]
