Catching up with Excel Academy of Roseland 2019 valedictorian

Since graduating from the Excel Academy of Roseland three years ago, Kewhawn George hasn’t stopped furthering his education or finding ways to better himself. But in 2017, he was tired of sitting around with nothing productive to fill his time. When his sister mentioned her interest in the Excel Academy, George decided to take control of his [...]

He is trying very hard to work more independently on his core subjects. He has been looking forward to volunteer work at Goodwill. Dakota always checks on others with this phrase, "Are you satisfied with your care?" which gives us a chuckle. He asks others about things in their lives so that a conversation can be about mutual topics. He often uses good group rules such as raising his hand and waiting [...]

Creation Appreciation

This month High Road School focused on expressing their creativity. BEST and Academic Middle School students were able to go to Artful Designs and paint pottery. Students were able to decorate quilting squares to display them around the school. BEST High School experimented with using apples as stamps and a mixture of shaving cream and paint to design clouds. Our students use art to work on fine motor skills that transfer to assist in life skills development.
