On May 14, students from the High Road School of Santa Rosa enjoyed a fun-filled field trip to Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida.
Students who serve in the school’s student government association had the chance to take in a live game, meet the Blue Wahoos mascot, and experience the energy of a professional baseball stadium firsthand. The Blue Wahoos play in the Southern League and are the Class Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team.
From cheering in the stands to sharing snacks and laughter with friends, the day was full of memorable moments. The students also had the chance to run on the field during the seventh-inning stretch and “chase the roach” (a human wearing a roach costume), which is a fun festivity at the baseball park.
These types of outings are part of the school’s commitment to social development, giving students opportunities to build confidence, friendships, and real-world connections.
