Students at High Road School in Windham County have been enjoying many opportunities to engage their curiosity and expand their thinking through some fun and engaging hands-on and project-based learning in recent weeks.
Our younger students enjoyed a visit from some silky chickens. In addition to being amused by their hair style, student were interested in learning some new facts about silky chickens, such as the fact that they have black skin instead of the usual pink skin other chickens have.
Students in our older classroom have been enjoying learning about Greek mythology, and have been actively engaged in project-based learning, including engaging in research and a pottery project. They have been eager and enthusiastic about sharing their new learning with anyone who visits their classroom!
In addition to a school science fair held in March, students are participating in a school arts fair coming up in April. Keep an eye out for some pictures of their hard work!
