The High Road School of Cecil County, based in Elkton, hosted its first Autism and Transition Resource Fair recently providing local families, students, and community members with access to critical resources for life after High Road.
The event addressed the growing need for post-secondary employment opportunities and additional care services in Cecil County, offering attendees guidance and connections to organizations. It also highlighted the importance of community collaboration, in ensuring that students with autism and special needs are informed about the resources necessary for a smooth transition.
Among the participating organizations were the Cecil County Local Management Board Local Care Team, Chesapeake Care Resources, Inc., the Maryland State Department of Education’s Division of Rehabilitation Services, Neighborhood Youth Panel, All About Me Adult Day Program, Bayside Community Network, Inc., The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region, and Susquehanna Workforce Network.
