Chloe has been doing a fantastic job with transitioning back into an in-person learning environment. She has shown great maturity in dealing with staffing changes in her classroom and displays a positive attitude toward her staff and peers. Chloe is a resilient young lady who has been working diligently this school year and has achieved gold level status. We are so proud of Chloe and the growth she has demonstrated this year. Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness Month

The month of April is dedicated to autism awareness. Sierra School of Peoria has been participating in and coordinating many activities for our students and families. We started off the month with a BBQ and provided custom made "light it up blue" masks for all the staff. April Showers Bring May Flowers

Learn more about our school today. The High Road School at Choptank Elementary team have decided to greet the warm weather by making daffodils! They used food coloring and 2 different sized cupcake holders. As April showers bring May flowers, students at High Road School at Choptank Elementary have begun their unit on Earth's biomes and the types of vegetation and animals that live in each. The importance is that students will learn how to further protect their environment!

Drop Everything And Read

Learn more about our school today. April 9, 2021 was Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.) in honor of famed author Beverly Clearly. High Road School at Choptank Elementary students will read a book for 30 minutes and just enjoy following along with the characters of their book. Students were encouraged to dress up as their favorite book characters as an added layer to the fun. Zhialee couldn't think of one so Ms. Suzy dressed up as Ms. Frizle for him. They read The Magic School bus together!

Raha’s Perseverance and Positivity

Raha has shown tremendous growth and self-management since she started at Sierra Academy of Scottsdale just seven months ago. In the short time she has been at our school, she has learned to utilize coping strategies that enable her to remain in class and learn with her peers, even when she becomes frustrated. Tie dye is making a major comeback on the fashion scene. To keep with the trend, our social worker Ms. Ileana - head of the fashion department -  helped us create our very own tie-dyed High Road School shirts. Even our building administrators and the principal at Caroline Career Technology Center received her own custom-made shirt made by High Road School student Jeffery.
