In an effort to explore many job opportunities with our students, we had the honor of visiting Whelen Engineering in Chester, CT. Whelen not only makes the lights for emergency vehicles and airplanes but are the proud sponsers of four adult programs for the developmentally disabled who are an integral part of their business. These programs work side by side with typical employees to create quality products.

We were able to see various aspects of the factory that makes the Whelen light bars. During our tour we visited each department of the process. We began with robotics and moved on to the assembly of the light bars, next we went to engineering and we finished up in the marketing department. There was a job possibility for every interest and ability among our students which allowed them to see a vision of their future, as we walked through the various departments. Thank you to Whelen for such an informative and educational tour!
