Our Transition Department is aiding our students to get an early start understanding the college application process. Because many of our students may possibly be first in their family to attend college our Transition Coordinator has begun to tour a handful of local colleges. This tour was meant to help our students get an understanding about what the Hartford area has to offer for post secondary studies.
Recently our Transition Coordinator took our students to the recently renamed Goodwin University. Goodwin has some very enticing reasons for students to consider applying. They have not only degrees programs but certificate programs as well. The students were met by an admissions officer and were given a private assessment test on the computer. This assessment was meant more for our students to understand not only their strengths and weaknesses but also their career interests. Students benefited greatly from this tour and expressed interest in the possibility of a school with so many options.
