Major Bill White, who is a 104 year old Veteran who served in World War II, survived the Battle of Iwo Jima and went to continue a long career as a US Marine Corps. Major White, has a bookshelf of many memories and he wanted to add more this year. All of our students made him Valentine’s Day cards that were sent to him. Students put different quotes, wrote thank you in different languages and put many smiley faces and hearts on their cards for Major White. One of our 5th graders, Semaj stated, “I hope he reads my card and is proud of what I did, because I am proud that he served in the Marines for us.” Major White is reported to have received over 300,000 Valentine’s Day cards this year!
