The Dragon Mural
By Jasmine

On the walls of one of the classrooms, there is a mural of a dragon. The reason why this mural exists is because the director, Ms. King wanted to give her students the opportunity to gain experience with painting and at the same time add character to the classrooms. This is also a way for future Sierra Academy students to know I was here and to explore their talents. The mural as mentioned is a large Chinese dragon, it’s meaning and purpose is to give people within the class inspiration and something to look at and give them good luck, for which they are known for. The colors are something out of a old Chinese art scroll. The dragon will take up the whole wall once completed and will feature an old saying “good luck” when finished. The mural has taken months of hard work and dedication, but it was worth it at the end.
