Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are the backbone of our students’ educational experience here at High Road School of Hartford – High. In the Transition Classroom students have a variety of employment and life-skill based goals and objectives.
One student has an IEP goal of visiting at least two job fairs, during this 2019-2020 school year. Recently the class visited a Job Fair at the Red Lion Inn here in Hartford. Although it was a small job fair, there were some relevant and influential companies represented. Students Mariana, Christian and Michael gravitated towards the booths for the Army and Danbury Police Department. Kelton chose to speak with the representatives at Big Y, where coincidentally his sister works. Each of the four students that went to the job fair walked away with a little more knowledge and are now closer to their dream of having a great job after graduation!
