It is that time of the year when families and friends gather around the dinner table to celebrate Thanksgiving. At High Road Academy in Laurel, it has become an annual tradition to hold a luncheon for all of our students, their families, and our staff. This year’s luncheon also coincided with an Open House. On Friday, Nov. 22nd, representatives from Howard, Montgomery, Anne Arundel and Calvert Counties, as well as the District of Columbia attended the Open House and were provided with student-guided tours of each classroom throughout the school.
Additionally, everyone enjoyed turkey, ham, and all the traditional staples of corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. We are very thankful for all the staff and parent volunteers who prepared the food, and the donations of desserts, drinks, and rolls that came from our parents and students. This event could not have been a success without all of the support and help.
