For the start of November, students at High Road School of Wallingford Primary/Middle, in Mrs. Rey’s class, explored types of dinosaurs within the context of their science class. Using the scientific process, students made predictions on the length of a Triceratops, Apatosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Ankylosaurus. Then they tested their theories (with pre-measured string.) Ankylosaurus was the longest at 75 feet, which landed them all the way down the hallway! Students were able to leave the classroom, spread out into one of Training Center Hallways, work together to discover the actual length, and then discussed the length of each dinosaur. Students thought this opportunity to put their math and science skills to the test was awesome! The students enjoyed this lesson and couldn’t believe how big dinosaurs were when they roamed the Earth!
