Ms. Lieberman, Special Education and Art teacher, helped students make cards for veterans. Students learned about what Veteran’s Day means and what differentiates it from Memorial Day. They also learned about the different wars many of our veterans served in and why it’s important to honor their service. Students had many important questions and did a wonderful job furthering the discussion.
After learning about Veteran’s Day, students made cards. Many wrote to the veterans thanking them for their service and sacrifice to our country. Others chose to wish them a happy Veteran’s Day. Students also drew pictures to accompany to their messages. American flags, soldier silhouettes, ribbons, and camouflage adorned the cards. They will be sent to the Veteran’s Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
