Being part of the Autism Community there are many active and supportive groups in the knowledgeable, and tight-knit autism community. One of the greatest local events is run by the Autism Spectrum Resource Center (ASRC); it is the annual resource fair held at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford. ASRC is an organization that offers advocacy, recreational activities, educational activities and resources to individuals and loved ones in the ASD community.

The annual resource fair is an exciting event where educational, recreational, medical and therapeutic service providers can introduce themselves to the community, creating collaborative connections among themselves and with impacted families.

BEST Academy was honored to be represented at this fair. We were able to share many smiles and stories with people who truly understand and appreciate the amazing gifts and strengths of our student population.

At our booth, we not only shared information about our school, we also shared products that our students make to contribute to the larger community. They gave away stress balls that they created and personally use on a daily basis. They also had greeting cards that highlighted their artistic abilities and homemade, organic cat and dog treats that they donate to local shelters and adoption events. You can see them creating a fresh batch of cat treats below.
