Fire Prevention Week

At High Road School of Hartford Primary, students were able to participate in Fire Prevention Week activities. The biggest hit of the week was a visit from Fire Lieutenant Jesus Lopez. Lieutenant Lopez visited each classroom in the school focusing on this year’s Fire Prevention theme “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”. Our youngest students got on the floor with the Lieutenant and “crawled” to safety in a smoky room. Our older students discussed their fire evacuation plans and made a promise to develop one if they did not have one in place. Students greatly enjoyed learning how to keep themselves and their families safe and the opportunity to meet Lieutenant Lopez!
