November Student of the Month: Jah’lon

Our November choice for Student of the Month is Jah’lon. Jah'lon continues to exemplify what it means to be a CASE student. He is considerate to all of his peers and offers assistance around the class. He has positive behavior and regularly encourages his fellow classmates to be on their best behavior. Lights on Lima

High Road School of Lima Staff participated in "Lights on Lima," a new downtown tradition of lighting up the Town Square Christmas Tree. Staff dished out Red & Green Cotton Candy and had a Christmas themed "Selfie Station."

‘Food on the 15th’ Food Drive

HRA is sponsoring a food drive in partnership with Food on the 15th, a program that collects and delivers non-perishable food to low-income older adults in Howard County. The school will be accepting donations, including plain cereals, canned fruits and vegetables, soups and other healthy items, from Monday, Nov. 28th through Monday, Jan. 9th. High Road Academy of PG celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

Every year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. At High Road Academy of PG they celebrated by learning about different Hispanic countries, culture, and history. Each class was assigned a country and they had to explain those various topics through pictures, writing and graphs. The students even indulged in different Hispanic cuisine. A Potluck Thanksgiving

On November 27, East Valley staff held a potluck dinner for thanksgiving. Room 6 was set up in order for the kids to self-serve. ACI and BEST students displayed appropriate social behaviors and engaged in cheerful conversation.

SAT School Day at Excel Academies North and South

On October 12, almost 300 high school students from both Excel Academy North and Excel Academy South in Philadelphia sat for the SAT and PSAT exams. The College Board, the organization that administers the exams, launched SAT School Day as a way to help students who may have difficulty making a standard SAT/PSAT test time and location.
