Capital Academy’s Annual MayDay
Capital Academy held it's annual MayDay on 5/13/22. MayDay is a carnival day for students to unwind after standardized testing and for staff to reward them for their hard work throughout the year. Students were able to partake in various games such as tug-o-war, minute-to-win-it, ring tosses, duck pluck, face painting, and enjoy delicious snacks. Jubi’s Java, In Memory of Najeeb
Sierra Academy dedicates Jubi's Java in memory of former student and standout coffee cart student worker, Najeeb. Family of former Sierra Academy student Najib, who passed away recently, were honored at the the formal dedication of the school's student run school coffee operations, of which Jubi was an outstanding student worker. The coffee cart program will now be known as Jubi's Java.
Middle school teacher, Aatiqah Ali, named divisional winner in Teacher of the Year Program
Aatiqah Ali, a teacher at Excel Middle Years Academy, was recently named a divisional winner in Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) Teacher of the Year Program. “My personal philosophy of learning and education is that every student brings something to the table – their own genius and uniqueness,” Ali said in a statement. “My job as an educator is to identify them and help students’ growth.” Teacher of the Year honors outstanding, innovative educators who lead by example with an unmatched level of dedication to supporting all students.
